Eric Balchunas, Senior ETF Analyst & Funds Product Specialist, Bloomberg
Eric Balchunas is an ETF Analyst at Bloomberg. In this role, he manages ETF data on the Bloomberg terminal. He also appears in a weekly on-air segment for Bloomberg TV and Radio called "Exchange-Traded Friday" in which he discusses different ETFs and the way investors can utilize them.
In addition, he is responsible for training clients and conducting seminars on how to use Bloomberg to find and analyze ETFs. He also puts out the Bloomberg ETF Newsletter and is a regular speaker at Bloomberg events. Eric has also written numerous articles on ETFs for Bloomberg Markets magazine and is a regular contributor to Bloomberg's personal finance blog called Ventured&Gained.
Prior to joining the ETF team, Eric was a Public Relations Associate with Bloomberg. Before joining Bloomberg in 2000, Eric worked as a reporter for Institutional Investor Magazine. Eric holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Environmental Economics from Rutgers University.

Ellen Bessner is an experienced, tough-minded commercial litigator, known for her determination and common sense advice. Pat Bolland, Media Consultant
Longtime business commentator Pat Bolland has been a business thought leader north and south of the border. Pat worked his way up in the investment industry from floor clerk on the Toronto Stock Exchange to VP with a top tier firm before moving into broadcasting. Pat’s been business editor at four major networks, currently Sun New Network on ‘AM Agenda’. He has parlayed his TV hosting skills into media training, corporate PR as well as hosting, moderating and webcasting for events and conferences. Not to mention a lot of lacrosse coaching. Bobby Brown, Institutional Business Development, Rockefeller & Co., Inc.
Braynard “Bobby” Brown was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He is the youngest of 5 children. After having a standout high school sports career, in which he was an All-American, All-State and All-County athlete at various times in three different sports, he chose to play football at the University of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame, Bobby was a three year starter on the football team. He led the team in various receiving categories during each of the three seasons as a starter. Bobby was also a sprinter on the Notre Dame Track & Field team. At the Big East conference championship meet, Bobby broke Notre Dame Track & Field’s indoor 400 meter record. Bobby graduated with a triple major and a minor from Notre Dame. Bobby then pursued his dream of playing in the NFL and was signed by the Green Bay Packers. Bobby would go on to spend two seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Bobby then returned to Notre Dame to attend law school. After graduating from Notre Dame Law School, Bobby took and passed both the New York and New Jersey bar examinations and began his legal career at a prestigious northern New Jersey law firm. Bobby practiced law for a few years before deciding to obtain his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Bobby attended Yale School of Management for his MBA and graduated with distinction in specific course areas. Bobby then worked as a sales & trading associate for a large broker-dealer. A few years later, Bobby decided to move to the buy-side of Wall Street and now works on the asset management team at Rockefeller & Co., which has about $16 billion assets under management. Bobby spends his spare time as an adjunct professor teaching undergraduate and graduate law and business courses at both Montclair State University (Contract Law, Entertainment Law, and Corporations & Partnerships) and Mercy College (Finance & Marketing in Sports, Corporate Finance, and Sports Management). In addition, Bobby still manages his own law practice and handles contracts and sports & entertainment matters for his clients. Bobby is on the national board of the I Have a Dream Foundation and is an active member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc..

Francis D’Andrade, VP, Private Client, Forstrong Global Asset Management
I am currently responsible for crafting the client experience and the marketing/communications strategy for Forstrong Global Asset Management. This has been informed by 30 years participation in the financial services industry in diverse areas such as commodity futures, mutual funds, brokerage, insurance and now ETF asset management. I have been privileged to participate in numerous financial industry committees and publications and that have played an important role in the development and perceptions of the financial services category. Outside of the office I enjoy outdoor pursuits and putting the finishing touches on my second book.

Stephen Duench, Vice-President, Portfolio Manager, AGFiQ Asset Management
Stephen has been an integral member of the Canadian equity portfolio management team at Highstreet Asset Management Inc. (Highstreet) since 2007. Stephen contributes to both quantitative and fundamental research initiatives.
He is also central in the creation and support of Highstreet’s proprietary portfolio management tools, analysis, and applications across both Canadian and Global mandates. Stephen has a keen interest in research surrounding Factor characteristics and their subsequent performance.
Stephen has an Honours degree in Financial Mathematics, and is a CFA charterholder.

Bobby is a Vice President at State Street Global Advisors, Ltd and Head of SPDR ETF Business Development for Canada. Bobby focuses on the distribution of SPDR ETFs to institutional investors throughout Canada including pension plans, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, investment consultants, asset managers and banks.
Prior to this role, Bobby was Senior Vice President and Head of Sales at First Trust Portfolios Canada responsible for overall sales and distribution. He also spent 10 years at Blackrock Asset Management, most recently as Director & Vice President, Head of National Accounts responsible for asset managers and brokerage senior executive relationships. Bobby was instrumental in the success of the iShares, Exchange Traded Funds business in Canada being responsible for sales and business development across Canada. Bobby also held sales and relationship management roles at Fidelity Investments and National Bank of Canada.

Ahmed Farooq, Vice President, ETF Business Development, Franklin Templeton Investments Canada
Ahmed Farooq is Vice President, ETF Business Development, responsible for directing and expanding the Franklin LibertyShares™ ETF business across major Canadian Investment Dealers and financial professionals. Ahmed’s responsibilities include providing ETF strategy, marketing and product development support.
Mr. Farooq has 10 years of experience in the ETF industry and 14 years in the investment industry overall. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2017, Mr. Farooq spent 10 years at BlackRock Canada supporting the promotion and growth of iShares ETFs. Recently, Ahmed was a senior wholesaler covering Toronto and Ottawa. Previously, he managed the internal sales team for the iShares ETF business across Canada and lead wholesaler activities for the firm in Atlantic Canada.
Mr. Farooq earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics with a specialization in Commerce and Finance, and a major in Economics from the University of Toronto. He has completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and has earned his CIMA® designation from the Investment Management Consultants Association® in conjunction with the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Deborah Frame, President & CIO, Frame Global Asset Management
Deborah Frame is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Frame Global Asset Management.
The firm was launched in 2015, providing non-discretionary investment advisory services to registered Portfolio Managers in Canada and registered Investment Advisors in the United States, using tactical asset allocation to construct globally diversified portfolios using broad market Exchange Traded Funds. The firm is wholly owned by employees.
Deborah has held executive positions over the past 30 years at several major Canadian life insurance and investment firms and has sat as a board member of both public and private companies. She was Chief Investment Officer at Empire Life prior to moving to Cougar Global Investments, a Global Tactical ETF Portfolio Strategist in 2009, where she was Vice President Investments and Chief Compliance Officer.
She holds an MBA from York University with a concentration in Finance and an undergraduate degree in Economics and Business from the University of Guelph. She is a registered Portfolio Manager - Advising Representative with the Ontario Securities Commission and a CFA Charterholder.
Deborah is the Co-Head of the Canadian Chapter of Women in ETFs. Founded in January 2014, Women in ETFs encourages and supports women in the ETF industry in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia Pacific. The organization’s objectives are to create opportunities for professional advancement by expanding connections among women in the ETF industry, offering guidance for the current and next generation of women in ETFs and provide forums for education and idea sharing across the industry and beyond.

Deborah Fuhr, Managing Partner & Co-founder, ETFGI
Deborah Fuhr is the managing partner and co-founder of ETFGI, an independent research and consultancy firm launched in 2012 in London offering paid for research subscription services: the ETFGI annual research service provides monthly reports on trends in the global ETF and ETP industry, access to the ETFGI database of all ETFs/ETPs listed globally with factsheets which are updated monthly, ETFGI annual review of institutions and mutual funds that use ETFs and ETPs, the Active ETF landscape report service and the Smart Beta ETF Landscape report service which provide monthly reports on trends in that segment of the market.
Previously, she served as global head of ETF research and implementation strategy and as a managing director at BlackRock/Barclays Global Investors from 2008 – 2011. Fuhr also worked as a managing director and head of the investment strategy team at Morgan Stanley in London from 1997 – 2008, and as an associate at Greenwich Associates.
Deborah Fuhr was the recipient of the 2014 William F. Sharpe Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding and lasting contributions to the field of index investing, the Nate Most Greatest Contributor to the ETF industry award at the 11th annual ExchangeTradedFunds.com awards dinner in 2015, the ETF.com Lifetime achievement award in 2015. She has been named as one of the “100 Most Influential Women in Finance” by Financial News in 2014, 2013, 2012, 2009, 2008 and 2007, and as one of the “10 to Watch in 2014” by Rep. magazine and wealthmanagement.com. Ms Fuhr won the award for the Greatest Overall Contribution to the development of the Global ETF industry in the ExchangeTradedFunds.com survey in 2011 and 2008 and received an award for her contribution to the ETF sector at the annual closed end funds and ETF event in New York and was featured in the Investors Chronicle’s list of “150 people that can make you money” in 2010.
Ms Fuhr frequently writes articles for various publications including: Financial News, ETFI Asia, CityWire, FT Advisor, Pensions and Investments, IPE: Investments and Pensions Europe, Focus -World Federation of Exchanges and the Financial Times.
Ms Fuhr is one of the founders and on the board of Women in ETFs, one of the founders and on the board of Women in ETFs – Europe chapter, is on the board of Cancer Research UK’s ‘Women of Influence’ initiative to support female scientists. Ms. Fuhr is on the editorial board of the Journal of Indexes (United States), Journal of Indexes (Europe), and Money Management Executive; the advisory board for the Journal of Index Investing; and the investment panel of experts for Portfolio Adviser, the FTSE ICB Advisory Committee, the International Advisory Committee for the Egyptian Exchange, and the University of Connecticut School of Business International Advisory Board. Camilo Gil, Executive Director, Institutional ETF Services, Equity Markets, CIBC World Markets
Mr. Gil joined CIBC Capital Markets in 2010 and is responsible for the exchangetraded fund (ETF) trading business, bringing liquidity and trading expertise to one of Canada’s fastest growing asset classes. Prior to assuming his current role Mr. Gil developed and maintained relationships with institutional accounts and hedge funds in relation to direct market access (DMA), algorithmic trading and electronic connectivity. He was also instrumental in growing CIBC Capital Markets’ noted electronic trading franchise while playing a critical role in developing capabilities and client relationships in Latin America.
Mr. Gil holds a H.BComm from McMaster University.

Alan Green, Director, iShares Canada Capital Markets, BlackRock
Alan currently leads iShares Canada Capital Markets, responsible for managing the relationships with all broker dealer firms and providing client education around the pre and post trading of iShares ETFs. Alan is also responsible for liaising with regulators and exchanges providing insight and information on the capital market ecosystem. Before joining BlackRock, Alan was responsible for market structure within the firm’s European business.
Previous to his time at BlackRock, Alan spent 8 years at Citigroup as a Senior Delta One trader, responsible for the pricing, execution and risk management of a Global macro equity index book for the full range of delta one products.
Alan earned a BSc in Geography from University College London in 2002. He is also a Charted Management Accountant, 2005.

Chris Heakes, Director, Portfolio Manager, Exchange Traded Funds, BMO Asset Management Inc.
Chris joined BMO Asset Management in 2010, and is a portfolio manager of equity, derivatives-based and multi-asset portfolios. Chris also trades equity options and foreign exchange for the firm. His several years of industry experience includes a role as a quantitative equity research associate, and work in investment funds product and client support.
He holds a Masters of Finance from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management (Dean's List), where he studied investments, including derivatives and derivative pricing.
Chris also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo, with studies in History and Mathematics, and is a CFA charterholder.

Steve Higgins, Director, Storage & Refinery Solutions, Royal Canadian Mint
Steve Higgins oversees the Royal Canadian Mint’s precious metals storage and refining business lines. The Mint provides highly secure and transparent storage for large financial institutions, investment funds, corporations and HNW clients. He is responsible for the design, development and management of the Canadian Gold Reserves (TSX: MNT/MNT.U) and Canadian Silver Reserves (TSX: MNS/MNS.U) exchange-traded receipt programs (ETR). ETRs have monthly redemption rights for newly cast Royal Canadian Mint gold and silver bars or coins. Before joining the Mint in 2009 Steve was the Manager, Corporate Performance at Sustainable Development Technology Canada which makes early stage investments into the Cleantech sector. Steve completed his MBA at HEC School of Management in Paris and his Bachelor of Science and Business at the University of Waterloo.

Neville Joanes, Chief Investment Officer, WealthBar
Neville oversees investment strategy, asset allocation, ETF selection and investment operations at WealthBar, a Vancouver based digital portfolio manager. His position at WealthBar has enabled him to follow his passions around digitizing wealth management, spurring innovation in the financial industry and bringing transparency to clients across Canada.
In a previous role at a Canadian investment firm, Neville was responsible for over $500 million of assets. With over 10 years of experience in financial services, he has held roles at Mackenzie, TD Bank and Horizon ETFs.
Neville has extensive experience in analysis, product development, trading and asset management. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Rod Jones, Head of North America, STOXX Ltd.
Rod Jones is head of North America at STOXX, Limited. In this role, he is responsible for the firm’s operations and business development efforts in the North America region.
Rod previously worked at MSCI Barra heading the hedge fund and broker dealer client coverage teams in the United States.
Prior to Barra, Rod spent 8 years at Frank Russell Company (Russell Investment Group) in various analyst roles including Russell’s US consulting practice.
Rod has extensive business management expertise related to index products, ETFs, funds, notes and other product structures.

Alfred Lee, Director, Portfolio Manager, Exchange Traded Funds, BMO Asset Management Inc.
Alfred is a portfolio manager at BMO Asset Management Inc. where he manages fixed income and preferred share related mandates for both institutional and retail clients. As part of the global fixed income management team, he is involved in the management and trading of a wide variety of portfolios including Canadian bonds, U.S. investment grade, high yield, European and Asian bonds, emerging market debt and others. Previously, he worked for a large Canadian based brokerage developing ETF related strategies and sat on the firm's investment committee. Alfred is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, majoring in economics and holds the CFA, Chartered Market Technician and Derivatives Market Specialist and DMS designations.

Angella MacEwen, Senior Economist, Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) & Policy Fellow, Broadbent Institute
Angella MacEwen is the Senior Economist at the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), and a Policy Fellow with the Broadbent Institute. Her primary research focus is understanding the Canadian labour market, broader economic trends, and the impacts of government policy on workers. She regularly represents the CLC at parliamentary committees and in the national media.
Angella has been a Research Associate with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA) since 2006. She is on the steering committee of the Progressive Economics Forum (PEF), is a member of the Statistics Canada Advisory Committee on Labour and Income Statistics, and was recently appointed to the National Stakeholder Advisory Panel for the Labour Market Information Council.
Angella holds a MA in Economics (Dalhousie University) and a BA in International Development Studies (Saint Mary’s University).

Douglas Porter, Chief Economist & Managing Director, BMO
Douglas Porter has over 30 years of experience analyzing global economies and financial markets. As Chief Economist at BMO Financial Group, he oversees the macroeconomic and financial market forecasts and co-authors the firm’s weekly flagship publication, Focus. Mr. Porter manages the team that has won numerous awards including Best Forecaster for Canada by Focus Economics in 2016, top Canadian forecaster by Bloomberg and the prestigious Lawrence Klein award for forecast accuracy of the U.S. economy.
As a respected commentator on economic and financial trends, he is regularly quoted in the national press and often interviewed on radio and television.
Before joining BMO, Mr. Porter held the positions of Economist and Country Risk Analyst with other Canadian financial institutions, and began his career at the Bank of Canada.
Mr. Porter has been a member of C.D. Howe’s Monetary Policy Council since 2008 and serves on the Investment Management Committees of the Bank of Montreal’s Canada Pension Plan and Western’s Endowment Fund. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Toronto Financial Services Alliance.
Mr. Porter, CFA, earned a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.

Som Seif, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Purpose Investments Inc.
Som Seif is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Purpose Investments Inc. which he formed following the sale of Claymore Investments to BlackRock Inc. in March 2012. Mr. Seif started Claymore Investments in Canada in January 2005 and was the former President and Chief Executive Officer leading the implementation of the company’s business development and corporate strategies. Over the seven years of its operation, Claymore Investments organically grew to $8 billion in assets and established itself as a Canadian leader in bringing intelligent, low cost exchange-traded funds to investors through its family of thirty-four exchange-traded funds across broad asset classes.
Prior to Claymore Investments, Mr. Seif was an investment banker with RBC Capital Markets, where he worked since 1999. He played a key role in developing the structured products group at RBC Capital Markets in both Canada and the U.S., where he structured and raised capital for both Canadian and U.S. asset managers.
Som is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has a Bachelor of Applied Science with an emphasis on Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Toronto. Som has a strong commitment to community and is currently a member of the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation Board, Chair of the Art Gallery of Ontario Corporate Development Committee, a member of the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Foundation Board and University of Toronto Mechanical & Industrial Engineering Advisory Board, and a board member of The Next 36. Silvio Stroescu, President, BMO Investorline
Silvio Stroescu is the President of BMO InvestorLine. He is accountable for driving the strategy, client experience and performance of BMO’s self-directed and digital advice brokerage businesses in Canada. He ensures there is alignment between InvestorLine and BMO’s broader Wealth Management and enterprise strategy. He joined BMO Financial Group in October 2016.

Silvio was formerly Vice President of Deposits of Tangerine Bank (ING DIRECT), and prior to that, he served as President & CEO of Tangerine Investments. Over his tenure with ING DIRECT he was one of the pioneers of digital banking in Canada, leading teams that launched innovative products and services in anticipation of clients’ evolving digital preferences. Silvio also brings his experience with developing new business lines, introducing new products to the Canadian market and leading business lines in transition. He credits his progress to a relentless focus on personal development, great mentors and being part of organizations with environments conducive of growth opportunities.

He is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers (FICB) and a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM). Jeff Weniger, CFA serves as Asset Allocation Strategist at WisdomTree Asset Management, Inc. WisdomTree pioneered the concept of fundamentally weighted ETFs and is currently an industry leader.
Jeff has a background in fundamental, economic and behavioral analysis for strategic and tactical asset allocation. Prior to joining WisdomTree, he was Director, Senior Strategist with BMO from 2006 to 2017, serving on the Asset Allocation Committee and co-managing the firm’s ETF model portfolios.
Jeff has a B.S. in Finance from the University of Florida and an MBA from Notre Dame. He is a CFA charter holder and an active member of the CFA Society of Chicago and the CFA Institute since 2006. He has appeared in various financial publications such as Barron’s and the Wall Street Journal and makes regular appearances on Canada’s Business News Network (BNN) and Wharton Business Radio.

Mark Yamada, President & CEO, PŮR Investing
Mark Yamada is President and CEO of PŮR Investing Inc. (PŮR). PŮR combines software development with portfolio management delivering innovative solutions to defined contribution pension plans and disruptive strategies to investment advisors and their clients. PŮR provides independent exchange-traded fund (ETF) analysis, risk-based portfolio construction and web-based tools including a multi-factor ETF screener and volatility drag calculator for use with leveraged ETFs. Mark lectures and writes about risk, volatility and portfolio construction in the U.S. and Canada and is a frequent speaker about the use of ETFs. He and his partners at PŮR are dedicated to providing better investment solutions to individual investors.

Craig Wright, Senior Vice-President & Chief Economist, Royal Bank of Canada
As chief economist, Craig leads a team of economists providing economic, fixed income and foreign exchange research to RBC clients. Craig is a regular contributor to a number of RBC publications and is a key player in delivering economic analysis to clients and the media through the Economics Department’s regular economic briefings.
A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Toronto, Craig was appointed Chief Economist in 2001 having joined RBC 1994 after working at another financial institution for seven years. Craig is a participant in a number of the key RBC internal committees and is a member of the CD Howe Monetary Policy Council, Lazaridis School of Business Economics, Wilfrid Laurier University Dean’s Advisory Council and the British Columbia Economic Forecast Council.
Craig and his wife Susan live in Toronto with their three children Emily, Bradley and Jacob.
