Deborah Fuhr, Managing Partner, ETFGI
Deborah Fuhr is a partner and co-founder of ETFGI, an independent research and consultancy firm established in 2012 covering the global ETF and ETP industry. The firm is focused on providing thought leadership, producing independent research on the global ETF and ETP industry including monthly ETF and ETP asset flows, manager rankings, product updates, index providers rankings, exchanges rankings, banks and brokerage firms ETF and ETP trading rankings, providing education and assistance to investors on product comparison, asset allocation implementation as well as offering customised research.
Previously she was the Global Head of ETF Research and Implementation Strategy and a Managing Director at BlackRock/BGI from Sept 2008 – Oct 2011 managing a team which won a number of awards. Ms Fuhr worked at Morgan Stanley in London from 1997 – 2008 as a Managing Director and head of the Investment Strategy team. Prior to this she was an Associate at Greenwich Associates the strategic consulting and research source for providers and users of financial services worldwide.
ETFGI won the Best ETF Research award in 2012 in the ETF Express awards announced on February 28th 2013 in London. In 2012, 2009, 2008 and 2007, Ms Fuhr was named as one of the Top 100 women in Finance, a distinguished list of the most influential women in European Finance, by Financial News.
She has an MBA from the JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut.

Reginald M. Browne, Senior Managing Director, Global Co-Head, ETF Group, Cantor Fitzgerald & Co.
Reginald Browne is senior managing director and global Co-Head of the ETF Group at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., where he oversees the operations of the ETF Group globally. Mr. Browne’s service with Cantor Fitzgerald began in September 2013.
Prior to joining Cantor Fitzgerald, Browne was the Co-Global Head of the Listed Derivatives Group at KCG Holdings, formally Knight Capital, where he built the largest ETF team in the industry and was the steward of 38% of the listed ETFs on the NYSE/Arca exchange as lead market maker. Browne’s team was recognized globally as the best in class in the U.S. with annual industry recognition by clients and peers three consecutive years starting in 2010. Prior to Knight, Browne spent 18 years in senior leadership roles in derivative trading organizations, which began at O’Connor and Associates in Philadelphia.
Mr. Browne has a B.S in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from La Salle University. Mr. Browne is a producer of the Broadway show, The Trip to Bountiful, which earned a nomination for the Antoinette Perry Award, commonly known as a Tony Award; Best Revival of a play. Browne is also a trustee of McCarter Theater in Princeton, NJ.

Pat Bolland, Media Consultant
Longtime business commentator Pat Bolland has been a business thought leader north and south of the border. Pat worked his way up in the investment industry from floor clerk on the Toronto Stock Exchange to VP with a top tier firm before moving into broadcasting. Pat’s been business editor at four major networks, currently Sun New Network on ‘AM Agenda’. He has parlayed his TV hosting skills into media training, corporate PR as well as hosting, moderating and webcasting for events and conferences. Not to mention a lot of lacrosse coaching. Despite all his business and sport acumen he’s best known as “the guy with the ‘stache”. Follow him at @patbolland.

Paul Bosse, Principal, Vanguard
Paul Bosse, CFA, is a principal in Vanguard Investment Strategy Group. He works with institutional clients, consulting on asset allocation and portfolio construction issues. Before joining Vanguard, Mr. Bosse was director of asset allocation and chairman of the Investment Committee at DuPont Capital Management. While at DuPont, he designed the strategic asset allocation for the pension trust fund and managed the global tactical asset allocation portfolio. He also had investment oversight for several international pension plans and the employee defined contribution plan. Previous responsibilities at DuPont included developing quantitative equity strategies and managing a small-cap fund. Mr. Bosse formerly served on the Investment Committee for the University of Delaware Endowment and is a CFA® charterholder. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Michael Cooke, Head of Distribution, PowerShares Canada
In this role, Michael integrates PowerShares exchange traded products into the Canadian retail and institutional markets. He works with both internal and external clients to complement Invesco’s existing business and bring the best of Invesco PowerShares global expertise to Canadian investment professionals and their clients.
Michael joined Invesco in 2008 after a career in derivative product marketing where he was responsible for the origination, structuring and distribution support of a broad range of products linked to a range of asset classes including fixed income, equity, commodities, managed funds and currencies. Prior to that, Michael held progressively senior sales, marketing and management positions at several global asset management firms. During his career, Michael has consulted with numerous institutional and retail clients across multiple product and business lines.
He is a graduate of Queen’s University in Political Studies and makes his home in Toronto with his wife and two children.

Constantin Cosereanu, Equity Specialist, Bloomberg
Constantin Cosereanu, CFA is a member of the equity applications specialist team at Bloomberg. He has been with Bloomberg for the past 12 years in multiple roles, more recently as an account manager covering Canada's largest buy-side firms, among them some of the largest pension funds in Canada. Prior to Bloomberg, he has worked for Canada Trust in London, ON and Financial Post in Toronto. He is a graduate of the MBA program at The Wilfred Laurier School of Business in Waterloo, Ontario. Constantin has also attended the University of Western Ontario's Economics undergraduate program. While at UWO he has played varsity water-polo. Constantin is a CFA Charterholder.
At Bloomberg, Constantin focuses on idea generation and portfolio analytics. He has created the Idea Generation column on Bloomberg and his ideas are frequently quoted in The Globe and Mail's idea generation section. He is also proud to be an adjunct professor at The Columbia School of Business teaching the Stock Picking Strategies part in the Security Analysis class. This class was created by Benjamin Graham and attended/taught by Warren Buffett, as well.
Constantin's input has been instrumental in developing the Bloomberg portfolio analytics platform as well as the screening and backtesting platforms.

Trevor Cummings, Head of Business Development, Exchange Traded Funds, RBC Global Asset Management
Trevor Cummings is the Head of Business Development, Exchange Traded Funds at RBC Global Asset Management. In this capacity, he is responsible for championing the RBC ETF offering, including RBC Target Maturity Bond ETFs and the RBC Quant Dividend Leaders ETFs. Trevor is responsible for growing the asset base of RBC’s ETF offering, including spearheading business initiatives related to the ongoing support and education for this innovative suite of investment solutions.
Trevor has 16 years’ experience in the financial industry. For the past eight years he worked at the largest ETF provider in Canada. He was most recently Vice President of Business Development, a position which he held for six years. Prior to that, he held roles in Sales Strategy and Inside Sales.
Trevor has also spent three years at an IIROC firm in a trading capacity and five years at two MFDA fund companies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Toronto and has completed several industry programs including the Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation, offered by the Investment Management Consultants Association and The Wharton School.

John DeGoey, Vice President, Associate Portfolio Manager, Burgeonvest Bick Securities
John DeGoey is a Vice President and Associate Portfolio Manager with BBSL. John enjoys a national reputation as an authority on professional, transparent financial advice in Canada. A frequent commentator on financial matters, he has written for a number of media sources including Advisor’s Edge Report, Canadian MoneySaver, the Globe and Mail and the National Post and has also made numerous appearances on a variety of television programs, including CBC’s Marketplace, News World and The National, BNN’s Market Call, and CTV’s Canada AM. In 2003, John released his groundbreaking book, “The Professional Financial Advisor”, which was later updated and re-released in both 2006 and 2012. Bobby Eng, Senior Vice President, Head of Sales, FT Portfolios Canada Co.
Bobby Eng is Senior Vice President, Head of Sales at First Trust Portfolios Canada. He is responsible for sales and distribution of the AlphaDEX™ Exchange Traded Funds line up as well as other products. Mr. Eng has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry and was most recently the Director & Vice President, Head of National Accounts at Blackrock Asset Management responsible for retail brokerage senior executive relationships. He was also instrumental in the success of the iShares, Exchange Traded Funds business in Canada being responsible for sales and business development across Canada. Mr. Eng also held sales and relationship management roles at Fidelity Investments and National Bank of Canada.
Mr. Eng holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting from Concordia University and holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the Investment Management Consultant Association (IMCA).

Kevin Fong, Managing Director, Financial Products, BMO Capital Markets
Kevin serves as head of Equity Derivatives Trading in the Financial Products group at BMO Capital Markets. His group is responsible for trading of all global equity derivatives. Kevin has been involved in Canadian ETF market making for 17 years. Prior to joining BMO in 1997, Kevin was at Versus Technology where he designed computer guided trading strategies for the equity and derivative markets. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Mathematics (Computer Science) from the University of Waterloo and a MBA from the University of Toronto.

Barry Gordon, President & Chief Executive Officer, First Asset
Barry Gordon serves as First Asset’s President and Chief Executive Officer, bringing with him over 15 years of experience in the financial services sector.
Barry joined First Asset in 1997 and has overseen the successful growth of the firm to date. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian ETF Association and serves on the Investment Funds Product Advisory Committee. Barry has authored several articles on the evolution of the investment landscape in Canada and internationally, and his active participation in the financial industry has made him a frequent commentator in the media.
Alongside his directorship in the financial industry, Barry is active in several charities, including Pathways to Education Canada, the directorship of Crescent School, the Crescent School Foundation, the Havergal College Foundation, and is a member of YPO and the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Prior to joining First Asset, Barry practised securities law at the Toronto law firm of McMillan Binch (now McMillan LLP). Barry holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

George Hartman’s 40-year career in financial services as an educator and executive spans both the insurance and investment industries.
He has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences in Canada, the US, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia, including the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Annual Meeting and Top of the Table Annual Meeting. George writes a monthly column called The Coach’s Forum for the trade journal Investment Executive and is a regular guest on Investment Executive’s Building Your Business television broadcast.

Steve Higgins, Senior Manager, ETF Compliance & Investor Relations, Royal Canadian Mint
Steve Higgins, Senior Manager, ETR Compliance & Investor Relations, Canadian Gold Reserves/Canadian Silver Reserves programs, Royal Canadian Mint.
Steve Higgins oversees the ETR program at the Royal Canadian Mint. He is responsible for the design, development and management of exchange traded receipts (ETRs). Before joining the Mint in 2009 Steve was the Manager, Corporate Performance at Sustainable Development Technology Canada which makes early stage investments into the Cleantech sector. Steve completed his MBA at HEC School of Management in Paris and his Bachelor of Science and Business at the University of Waterloo.

Paul Kaplan PH.D., Director of Research, Morningstar Canada
Paul D Kaplan, Ph.D, CFA is director of research for Morningstar Canada and is a senior member of Morningstar’s global research team. He is responsible for the quantitative methodologies behind Morningstar’s fund analysis, indexes, advisor tools, and other services.
Dr. Kaplan conducts research on investment style analysis, performance and risk measurement, asset allocation, retirement income planning, portfolio construction, index methodologies, and alternative investments. He led the development of the quantitative methodologies behind the revised versions of Morningstar RatingTM for funds (Morningstar’s ‘Star’ rating), the Morningstar Style BoxTM, and the Morningstar family of indexes.
Many of Kaplan’s research papers have been published in professional books and publications such as the Financial Analysts Journal, the Journal of Portfolio Management, the Journal of Wealth Management, the Journal of Investing, the Journal of Performance Measurement, the Journal of Indexes, and the Handbook of Equity Style Management. He received the 2008 Graham and Dodd Award and was a Graham and Dodd Award of Excellence winner in 2000. Many of his works appear in his book Frontiers of Modern Asset Allocation published by John Wiley & Sons in 2012.
Kaplan has made numerous presentations on fund analysis, asset allocation, portfolio management, equity indexes, and related topics at professional conferences, meetings of professional organizations, and professional education programs.
Previously, Kaplan has served as quantitative research director for Morningstar Europe in London, director of quantitative research in the United States, and chief investment officer of Morningstar Associates, LLC, a registered investment advisor and wholly owned subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc., where he developed and managed the investment methodology for Morningstar’s retirement planning and advice services.
Before joining Morningstar in 1999, Kaplan was a vice president of Ibbotson Associates and served as the firm’s chief economist and director of research (Morningstar acquired Ibbotson in March 2006). Prior to that, he served on the economics faculty of Northwestern University where he taught international finance and statistics.
In January 2011, Kaplan was appointed to the editorial board of the Financial Analysts Journal, the leading publication of the CFA Institute, a global not-for-profit organization comprising the world’s largest association of investment professionals.
Kaplan holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, and computer science from New York University and a master’s degree and doctorate in economics from Northwestern University. He is a member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance and is a member of the review board of the Research Foundation of the CFA Institute. Kaplan holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Ronald C. Landry, Executive Director, ETFs & Investment Funds, CIBC Mellon
Ronald C. Landry, CGA, is Executive Director, ETFs & Investment Funds, at CIBC Mellon where he develops and supports the company’s ETF strategy and plan, including determining growth opportunities and ensuring CIBC Mellon’s service model platform meets the needs of current and future ETF clients.
Prior to joining CIBC Mellon, Mr. Landry held progressive positions in the financial services sector including senior positions in fund accounting, corporate finance and regulatory compliance at Altamira Investment Services. Mr. Landry was then recruited to join Felcom Data Services Inc. where he held the position of Executive Vice President and COO prior to being appointed President in 2007. CIBC Mellon acquired Felcom in 2009.
Since joining CIBC Mellon, Mr. Landry has led the company’s drive to service the ETF segment and develop CIBC Mellon’s comprehensive service delivery platform. He also participates actively in industry groups including IFIC accounting advisory; CETFA policy; PR & media and operations committees.
Today, CIBC Mellon services more ETF providers than any other custodian in Canada. Founded in 1996, CIBC Mellon provides asset servicing solutions including custody, multicurrency accounting, fund administration, unitholder recordkeeping, pension services and securities lending administration for institutions and corporations. As at December 31, 2013, CIBC Mellon held more than CAD$1.3 trillion in assets under administration.

Rohit Mehta, Senior Vice President, First Asset ETFs
As Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Rohit Mehta leads the strategies and execution of sales and marketing for First Asset’s Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), Mutual Funds and Closed-end Funds.
With over 13 years of financial industry experience, Rohit now leads a team of 16 professionals that cover the three product lines across Canada. He is a contributing speaker at many financial service conferences, events, and has also been a commentator in the media. Rohit sits on the Media and Public Relations committee of the Canadian ETF Association and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Economics) degree from the University of Western Ontario.
Rohit’s passion for financial services started with his first position at RBC Dominion Securities. Since then he has held progressive roles in financial services and management, and prior to joining First Asset in 2009, Rohit was vice-president and national sales manager at a major Canadian investment management firm.

James Morton, CIM, of The Morton Group of CIBC Wood Gundy, co-manages along with Tim Morton, CFA, the wealth of a select group of Canadian Families, trusts and foundations.

Amelia Nedovich, Head, Business Development, ETFs & Structured Products, Toronto Stock Exchange
Ms. Nedovich joined Toronto Stock Exchange 15 years ago and has served in various capacities throughout her tenure. Currently, she is responsible for the implementation of the ETF & Structured Product business development strategy for Toronto Stock Exchange, including sponsored education and marketing initiatives promoting the growth of the industry. She also manages relationships with key ETF and structured product industry participants.
Prior to joining TSX, Ms. Nedovich worked as an economist with the Ontario Public Service.
Ms. Nedovich holds an MA in Political Economy from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management.

Andreas Park, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, University of Toronto
Andreas Park is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, where he has been a faculty member since 2003. His research covers empirical topics, such as the market impact of maker-taker pricing, dark orders, and high frequency trading, and theoretical topics, such as herd behavior in financial markets and the impact of trading mechanisms. His work has been published or is forthcoming at, e.g., Econometrica, the Journal of Finance, or the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. He has received and has been an affiliate on a number of research grants, including from the ESRC, SSHRC and the GRI. Andreas is a Co-Director of the Master of Financial Economics program at University of Toronto, and he teaches courses on Market Microstructure, Trading, Asset Pricing, and Corporate Finance. Andreas currently works on a number of empirical research projects on Canadian equity markets, the results of which he has presented at major international academic conferences.

Jaime Purvis, Executive Vice-President, National Accounts, Horizons ETFs
As Executive Vice-President at Horizons ETFs, Jaime manages the national accounts relationships for Horizons ETFs with Canadian Investment Dealers, as well as managing relationships with the Dealer’ managed asset and discretionary management programs. Jaime is also responsible for directing the Self-Directed Investing channel and delivering key concepts and product knowledge to the management, operations, and investors. Jaime also manages the Institutional sales program for HETFs in Europe.
Jaime is also the designated Product specialist for Horizons ETFs, and is integral in implementing and delivering educational campaigns for Horizons, such as the very successful Horizons ETF University series.
A Queen’s University graduate with an Honours degree in Political Science, Jaime has been with Horizons ETFs-related firms since 1995.

Yves Rebetez, Managing Director, Editor, ETFinsight
Recognizing the need for an all-encompassing resource dedicated to Canadian Exchange Traded Funds, Yves recently launched www.etfinsight.ca.
From 2004 until early 2011, Yves was Vice President, ETFs/Structured Products with Canada's largest Bank-owned Broker/Dealer, RBC Dominion Securities. Prior to that ( 1996-2004) Yves served as Portfolio Advisor (Canadian Equities) in DS’s Portfolio Advisory Group. His earlier work experience focused on portfolio management, both in Fixed Income (for Institutional Clients), and in International Equities (for High Net Worth Individuals), with Credit Suisse Canada in Toronto, and earlier with UBS in Switzerland. Yves is a CFA charterholder.

Raman Aylur Subramanian, Managing Director, Head of Index Applied Research for the Americas, MSCI Raman Aylur Subramanian is a Managing Director and Head of Index Applied Research for the Americas at MSCI.
Raman has been with MSCI in a variety of research roles for over 14 years. In particular, he pioneered the role of Index Applied Research, which focuses on working closely with clients -- asset owners, managers, brokers, and investment consultants -- to ascertain their needs with respect to MSCI products, conduct research on MSCI product applications, and present the results in interactive sessions with clients.
Raman comes with a Bachelor of Technology in Petroleum Engineering from Indian School of Mines, India, a Masters in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, USA. Raman is a CFA charter holder from the CFA Institute in Virginia.

Dan Waldron, Senior Vice President & ETF Strategist, First Trust Portfolios LP
Dan Waldron is Senior Vice President, ETF Strategist forFirst Trust. Mr. Waldron began his career with Kemper Financial and Kemper Securities and has over 24 years of experience in the industry, having worked extensively with most aspects of investment company product development and marketing. Before joining First Trust, Mr. Waldron held an Executive Director position with Scudder Investments, a Deutsche Asset Management company, where he was the Director of the Investment Products Group responsible for product research, development and management of all open-end, closed-end, offshore, and variable insurance funds.
Previously Mr. Waldron held positions with Van Kampen Investments, a Morgan Stanley Investment Management company, where he served as Director of Fund Marketing, Director of Business Development, and Director of UIT Product and Marketing, and also as Vice President with Fidelity Capital Markets in Boston, Massachusetts wherhe was responsible for launching and managing Fidelity’s UIT business.

Laura White, Partner, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP
Laura White is a partner in the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. A tax lawyer, she is recognized as a leader with extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of Canadian income tax law relevant to the investment funds and asset management industry both in relation to funds and their managers, including domestic and offshore fund structures for retail, high net worth, institutional and tax-exempt investors; traditional trust and corporation structures, exchange-traded funds and alternative investment products; ongoing operational issues; investment by offshore funds in Canada; investment by Canadians in offshore funds; multiple-class issues; management fee issues; investment strategies, equitable distribution models; financings, restructurings; acquisitions; wind-ups; and registered plans.

Ian Williams, Managing Director, Trading & Sales, ITG Canada Corp.
Mr. Williams heads ITG Canada’s High-touch Trading Desk. This group includes experts in portfolio trading, block sourcing, and ETF liquidity. Mr. Williams is responsible for all trading related businesses and electronic trading products at ITG Canada including ITG’s growing ETF business.
Mr. Williams has more than 15 years experience in the brokerage and investment industry and previously held the role of President at Perimeter Markets Inc. and Head of Trading at TD Asset Management.
Mr. Williams has a BA in Economics from York University in Toronto, and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Mark Yamada is President and CEO of PŮR Investing Inc. (PŮR). PŮR combines software development with portfolio management delivering innovative solutions to defined contribution pension plans and disruptive strategies to investment advisors and their clients. PŮR provides independent exchange-traded fund (ETF) analysis, risk-based portfolio construction and web-based tools including a multi-factor ETF screener and volatility drag calculator for use with leveraged ETFs. Mark lectures and writes about risk, volatility and portfolio construction in the U.S. and Canada and is a frequent speaker about the use of ETFs.
